January 2013 Yays & Nays
Hello :-)
Believe it or not but my new netbook is broken. This time it wasn't my fault but still.. I have always known that I am not a tech girl but come on.. :(
Anyway, it is this time of a month (okay I might be a little belated) so I want to show you my yays & nays.
Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder
As you might know, my skin is extremely oily so I have been looking for products that would work for me for probably my whole life. I heard a lot of this powder, some youtube gurus use it also so I finally decided to give it a try. It looks kind of dark so I picked out the lightest shade which is transparent 001. It is still a little too dark for me but I decided not to cry because summer is coming and I will hopefully) get some tan. I applied it and first what I noticed was the fact that it extremely dried out my forehead. And it kept getting worse. After one hour I noticed that it got so orange. Some products (especially the drugstore ones) get darker/orange due to oxidization and apparently this powder is one of them. Do you know this feeling when something just dashes your hopes? I definitely can relate.. Nay.
Nivea Lip Butters in Raspberry Rose, Vanilla & Macadamia and Caramel Cream
They smell amazing. I can't pick my favorite one! In my opinion they work definitely better than Nivea lip balms. They don't dry out my lips and they last on my lips relatively long. Yay.
NARS Pro-Prime Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base
It is probably the best eyeshadow primer I have ever used. Why oh why has it to be so pricey? Yay.
Nivea Visage Make Up Starter Fast Absorbing Fluid
I usually don't use NIVEA products because I don't like this Nivea smell but I desperately needed a moisturizer because I forgot to take mine from Portugal and I wasn't sure which brand should I choose so this time I decided to try it out. This is a gel - cream for combination to oily skin. It is also available for a dry skin. I have to admit it is a great product. It really absorbs so fast and after using it foundation applies like heaven! It doesn't work as a primer though. I think it is an ideal product for people who don't need to use a primer but still they want a little help in applying a foundation. I also use it as a night cream (because I didn't take my night cream on purpose - its jar was too big war my small plastic bag - carry on luggage travelers can relate) and it is also a great moisturizer. Yay/Nay
St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub For All Skin Types
I heard a lot of this product and it says on its packaging that it's UK's No. 1 Scrub Brand so I finally decided to buy it. It smells amazing. It isn't very harsh so it can be used 3-4 times a week. It leaves skin smooth and so glowing. It is so gentle that I can even use it for my cheeks which I couldn't do with any other manual scrub. Yay.
Batiste Dry Shampoos in Blush and Tropical
I purchased these two dry shampoos at Boots. I decided to buy travel sizes because it is kind of pricey and I wanted to be sure if I really need it. They work amazing! My hair gets greasy so fast. I have it wash it every day. I love them! Especially the blush one which smells so beautiful! It is also so easy to use. I had to brush my hair very precisely because it leaves this white coating and my hair is very dark. Yay!
Have a great week!

Aside from Rimmel nail polish, the rest of the product lines just don't work too well with my skin. So sorry to hear that the powder oxidized.
ReplyDeleteGreat honest reviews, well done :)

I don't like that rimmel powder either and every other beauty blogger seems to rave about it! I just didn't find it gave any coverage at all really :/ I love the caramel cream nivea lip butter I'm obsessed!!
ReplyDeleteLove Holly x

Always Maylee
Ive used that rimmel powder before, and havent since! Im quite pail and even the light shade was a little too dark,I hate that when they turn orangey, such a pain.I recently bought another too, which was quite expensive and is really orangey even though its the palest shade? o well.
ReplyDeleteI love those dry shampoos, smell good especially the glittery one they do :D
Great round up,hope you have a fab week too x
